High School Best of the Best: The class of 2017
The best High School Basketball players in the land. I’ve gotten a chance to watch these guys in person and it was hard narrowing down to pick 5. There are just so many great student athletes coming out of this class.
There isn’t a particular order, but these are my favorites:
Quade Green
Hometown: Philadelphia, PA
High School: Neumann Goretti
Position: PG
College Commit: Kentucky Wildcats
Quade is one of the more special players that I have gotten the chance to watch play. The Kentucky commit isn’t very tall or doesn’t look physically imposing but one thing is for certain, his game speaks volumes. He handles the Ball exceptionally well and has a high basketball IQ. Not only does he score the ball with ease but he passes just as good. Nowadays, it’s rare to find such a young player who likes to distribute the ball and get his teammates involved. Aside from his passing ability he shoots the ball very well. Quade is a humble kid who works hard every day in order to get better and prepare himself for the road ahead. Kentucky has a long list of NBA talent in their history and Mr. Green hopes to add to that legacy. #PlanA #AllThingsHoops #BasketballBlog #RespectTheGame.
Hometown: Wilmington, DE
High School: IMG Academy
Position: Point Guard
College Commit: Undecided
Rumored to be the best PG of the class of 2017 Trevon is a special talent. With a lightning quick first step he is able to blow past his defenders and get to the basket. Not known to be a sniper from the outside, Trevon thrives in transition and will dunk on your head if you give him the chance. At 6’3 he has good size and athleticism and will look to take advantage of smaller guards. Defensively, Trevon is active and will lock up the opposition at a moments notice. Locking him up is simply not going to happen. He hasn’t declared what college will be utilizing his services next year but whatever school he chooses to attend will instantly be better just because of him. NBA bound for sure. Get his autograph now, it’s going to be worth something later! #AllThingsHoops #BasketballBlog #RespectTheGame.

Homidou Diallo
Hometown: Queens, NY
High School: Putnam Science Academy
Position: Shooting Guard
College Commit: Undecided
Homidou is one of the most entertaining high school basketball players that I have ever seen. A vicious dunker who attacks the rim with anger every time his hands touch the ball, Homidou takes no prisoners on the court. At 6’5 he has good size at his position. He has gotten scholarship offers from mostly all the top programs in the country. He is currently undecided and looking to make his college decision soon. As a shooting guard his jump shot will get tested at the next level. He won’t be able to simply leap over everyone on every play, but I’m sure whatever coach retains his services will be working on his shot day 1. He can hit the open jumper but will probably need to be more consistent with it. Don’t get me wrong he is an extraordinary talent who will thrive at the next level. I can’t wait to see where he ends up going. #AllThingsHoops #BasketballBlog #RespectTheGame.
Mohammed Bamba
Hometown: Harlem, NYC
High School: Westtown
Position: Center
College Commit: Undecided
Bamba, arguably the best prospect of this class has yet to commit to a school. The 6’11 center literally has every college in the country courting him and hoping to land a commitment from him. He is automatic around the rim and is a rim protector. His length and athleticism allow him to be a factor on every play, offense or defense. He rebounds at a pro level and can make any college team an instant contender. Other than his undeniable massive wingspan, what separates him from his peers is his hunger and eagerness to play defense. He not only blocks a lot of shots but he alters almost every shot attempted in the paint by his opposition. He’s going to make some college program very happy when he signs. #AllThingsHoops #BasketballBlog #RespectTheGame.

DeAndre Ayton
Hometown: Phoenix, AZ
High School: Hillcrest Academy
Position: Center
College Commit: Arizona Wildcats
Last but no least DeAndre Alton. At 7’1 Ayton isn’t your typical big man. Mix a smooth outside game with a brute inside game and you have Ayton. His combination of size, strength, and athleticism puts him at advantage on a court full of his peers. He’s league ready now but would most likely spend a year in Arizona, as he committed to be a Wildcat in September. #AllThingsHoops #BasketballBlog #RespectTheGame.

Honorable Mention
Hometown: Harlem, NYC
High School: St. Raymond’s Academy
College commitment: Minnesota
The co-Founder of JellyFam, Washington has an unbelievable and undeniable movement behind his name. This young man in not only one of the best in the country in basketball he is a role model to so many children. He has that it factor that NYC had been missing. He’ll be a Minnesota Gopher in the fall of 2017.
Hometown: Queens, NYC
High School: The Patrick School
College commitment: Kentucky
Position: Center
Ranked in the top tier of High School basketball players Nick Richards stock has done nothing but rise. A 250 lbs 6’11 frame will help at the next level. Nick shows a good feel for the game and is very active, both on the offensive and defensive ends of the ball. Already committed to play with the Kentucky Wildcats. Nick will join a talented bunch of players who will also be freshman next year, Quade Green and P.J. Washington. All three of whom are near locks to be one and done players. Developing…
